Carving Resilience: The Legacy of the Sagkeeng Wood Carvers

Throughout the late 1970's and the early 1980's hundreds of wood carvings were produced out of the Sagkeeng Furniture & Millwork Inc, that were sold all over the world. There were 12 carvers that were known as "The Sagkeeng Carvers" and we have carvings from 9 out of the 12 carvers on exhibit to show our visitors the artistic abilities that came from one of our neighboring communities along the Winnipeg River.
